Who’s Behind the Lens?

Hi, I’m Steph—the photographer behind Barden Photographic, based in Cairns and working across Far North Queensland and beyond.

I photograph the action, the connection between horse and rider, and the moments in between—the concentration before a round, a reassuring pat, and the smile afterwards.

From local club days to the Adelaide Equestrian Festival, my approach stays the same: every rider matters. Whether you’re tackling your first cross rails or competing at an international level, I want you to have photographs that reflect your effort and celebrate your progress.

One of the best parts of this work is getting to know the riders, families and volunteers who make these events possible. If you see me beside the arena, come and say hello!
